Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a United States college/university.

Incoming freshmen/high school seniors are not eligible to apply.

Freshmen are not eligible to apply for Summer and Fall quarters but will be eligible in Winter and Spring quarters.

Seniors who will not be attending a United States graduate school are not eligible to apply for the Spring quarter.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) that can be supported by an unofficial college transcript. If your college does not use a 4.0 scale, please convert your GPA accordingly.

Pursuing a degree in one of the following fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Immediate family members of current SBB Research Group employees are not eligible to apply.

Students that have not previously won the SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship are able to re-apply and must submit a different essay for each subsequent application.
Application Deadline
Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis and three (3) scholarships will be awarded per quarter. All finalists will be notified of their status via email in accordance with the schedule outlined below. A total of twelve (12) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded throughout the year.

Winner Selection
In 500 words or less, SBB Research Group Foundation wants to read your response to the following: What have been your most significant experiences in STEM and how will you use STEM principles to improve the world?
The SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship Committee (the “Committee”) will award one (1) $2,500 scholarship via the following process:

The Committee will select the eligible candidate with the best submission, in its sole and absolute discretion.

Once notified by email, a candidate will have one (1) week to accept the award. Failure to accept the award within one (1) week shall disqualify that candidate, and the Committee will select a new candidate by repeating the previous steps.

Acceptance of the award may have additional requirements set by the Committee and/or the student’s college, university, trade school, or design school.

The Committee reserves the right to request further information from you, including but not limited to documentation in support of the information you provide.
